Captain Christopher Husgen, like most captains, makes safety his priority.  He is licensed by the United States Coast Guard as a Master Captain and can take up to six passengers in his 20 foot Lund Alaskan open boat with a reliable 2016 90 hp Yamaha outboard. The boat can comfortably accommodate the captain and two fishermen casting.

For over 25 years, Captain Husgen has fished the Merrimack River for striped bass, bluefish and flounder.  He has retired from Parker River National Wildlife Refuge as a Park Ranger/Federal Game Warden, but worked the waters in the area for 20 years. Captain Husgen has developed an in-depth knowledge of fishing and hunting areas of the Merrimack River, Parker River, Plum Island Sound and inshore fishing in the Atlantic Ocean.

As a Park Ranger with a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and a Master of Education, Captain Husgen developed educational programs to introduce children and adults to the joy and art of fishing and worked closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and Environmental Police.
